Michael McCrann is an accomplished new horror writer whose first published book, Midnight Tableau, was released by Double Dragon Publishing in April 2004. His work has its roots in the descriptive, character-driven narratives of Richard Matheson, Stephen King, and Shirley Jackson. Mike's eclectic style has been influenced not only by studying the best authors within the horror genre but from a life-long passion for reading, in general. He is a big fan of Ian McEwen, John Irving, Wally Lamb, Stewart O'Nan, Tom Robbins, Tom Wolfe, Kazuo Ishiguro, Bentley Little, Jack Ketchum, and many, many more. In his own dark fiction, Mike aims to be more creepy than scary; the chills more psychological and emotional in nature, as he consciously avoids the blood and gore conventions of the modern horror genre.

Michael lives in Long Island, New York. In addition to fiction writing he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, playing chess, and tropical fish keeping. He is currently working on a novel-length, supernatural thriller.
